I bought a new phone today. It’s a pretty little Samsung and it comes with a camera.

This is the very first shot I took with it. There is a sundry shop located right next door to the hand/cell/mobile phone shop I bought my new phone in. Just outside of the shop, the owners had set up a table with various foodstuffs placed on it.

I didn’t really take the time to really memorize what all was on the table, but from what I can see in the photo, the red-white packets are artificial flavouring/seasoning, the yellow packets with ‘Prime’ written on them are instant noodles, I’m guessing the other packaged foods are various snacks, and the clear bags at the end of the table look either like dried noodles or bread rolls to me.

The quality is not quite as good as my real camera, but I didn’t buy the phone for the camera anyway… It is, however, much more convenient to use when I want to take photos in a pinch.

A hummingbird was hovering around my garden last weekend – at least I think it’s a hummingbird; it sure beat its wings like one.

Unfortunately, by the time I got my camera ready, it had flown up and perched on the electrical wires just outside my house and refused to come back down to pose for me. I was treated to its beautiful song for a good 5 minutes though.

Another Curtin University photo.

They have their own lake and in the middle of that lake is an island. I don’t really know if the island has any use for Curtin projects or experiments, but there is a run-down raft with a rope to pull yourself across on.

The raft is pretty cool. It’s 4 floating barrels with wooden planks placed atop it. I don’t know if I’d use it while carrying water-sensitive equipment like my camera though.

I was walking among some trees hunting for something to snap and I turned around and spotted this fellow. I really hate snakes, but I guess I don’t hate them enough to not take photos of them.

His tip of the tail (I’m assuming it’s a he) is actually in the tree – there was a tiny hole in it.

There is this… thing on a metal post in Curtin University. The post is sticking out of a concrete slab. On the concrete slab, someone(s) immortalized their hand prints all around. Afterwards, they even painted it red.

I thought it looked cool. The red colour, oddly enough, made me think of caveman paintings.
