These two guys were taking a nap on the same observatory platform shown on October 9, 2007. As pictured, the platform is not just good for views, but also apparently a neat place to grab 40 winks.

This is a sister photo of Miri Airport nightshot posted on October 6, 2007. In the photo is the Sarawak flag (yellow, black, and red) as well as the Malaysian flag (yellow, blue with red/white stripes). I’m not quite sure what the third flag is.

Was a tad preoccupied this past couple of days hence the lack of updates.
Taman Awam (one of Miri’s parks) has several observatory decks which overlooks part of Miri. Each observatory deck is connected by several suspension bridges for people to walk on.
Unfortunately, because of a hill, this deck doesn’t overlook the actual city-centre. Still, you make do with what you got. Beyond this observatory platform, there are mostly residential areas with a few shoplots.

This is Miri’s airport shot at night. The airport is among the busiest in Malaysia and it is a main hub for many of Sarawak’s rural air routes.
Just a few months ago, Malaysia Airlines started a route between Miri and Hong Kong (with a transit at Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia). This, I think, is the furthest route connecting to Miri thus far.
